Children begin to understand some of the qualities that can be used to tell if a person is TRUSTWORTHY. Children can identify situations in which it is wise to turn to a TRUSTED ADULT for help.
There are some people in our lives we can trust, and others we can't. Let's watch Episode 3 of Hector's World and think about the following:
1. How did the Squid know Sprat’s personal information?
2. Why did Hector give the Squid Tama’s personal information?
3. What did Constable Solosolave warn Hector and his friends about?
REMEMBER: Your personal details are
precious and we need to be very careful about who we share them with, particularly
people we know very little about.
ACTIVITY:
Explain to the class that there are particular groups of people that we trust in our lives. In today's video Miss
Finney, who is a youth group leader, and Constable Solosolave, a police officer are people the children can trust.
Ask the class to
identify situations in which these two characters could be trusted to give help and
support:
1. When can a teacher help you?
2. When can a police officer help you?
3. Why is the Squid untrustworthy?
ACTIVITY:
Children can draw a picture of a trusted adult in their life.
