Internet Safety - Reporting & Deleting Emails

Lesson 5.4 Reporting & Deleting Emails

Aim:
To understand how to identify and report or delete inappropriate emails or suspicious weblinks in Outlook.

Be Inspired:
Have you ever received an inappropriate email or a suspicious weblink? How can you tell if something is “off.” Look out for warning signs, such as unknown senders, urgent requests, or links with strange URLs.

Confronted with a pop-up, Jack sees something appealing, but unfamiliar, and must make a good choice. What would you do?

Check It Out:
This morning Mrs. Klein discovered that she'd forgotten to sign-out of her computer. She is a bit worried as she thinks she may have been hacked. Please can all students check their Outlook accounts and check for any suspicious emails.

If you find any suspicious emails please report them to Mrs. Klein.

Do Your Best:
Do your best investigating this issue and be careful not to open any suspicious weblinks.

Think about the following questions:

Why is it important to report suspicious emails and links?

How can reporting these emails help others?

Remember to always tell a trusted adult if you are unsure about an email.

Extension Task:
Head over to your Seesaw account and have a go at the word search. Remember to look up any words if you don't know what they mean.
