GRAPHICS 1.3 Toolbox

Lesson 1.3 Using the Toolbox

Aim:
To use a range of tools to create paintings in the style of different artists.

Be Inspired:
Have a look at this painting by Henri Matisse. What animal do you think Henri was thinking about when he created this collage? How do you think he made the collage?

He was thinking of a snail! Can you see the spiral?

Check It Out:
How could we create this using Paintz?
What tools would be best?
What tools would not be so useful?
Let's explore and see if we can do this:

Do Your Best:
Do you remember how to clear your image and how to save your work once it is finished?

Extension Task:
Ready for a challenge? Can you make a picture of a different animal in the style of Matisse? Can you guess what animals Mrs. Klein has created?

Finally
Take some time to look at one another's artwork.

How easy or difficult was it to create your artwork?

Henri Matisse created his pictures by cutting and ripping paper. Would you prefer to make a picture with paper or with a digital devices?

Why do you like one better than the other?
