Data 3.1 Sorting Information

Lesson 3.1 Sorting Information

Aim: Today you will need to classify animals into groups of your choice.

Be Inspired: Watch the video below to find out ten things about the Serengeti National Park.

Check It Out: An important job at the park is to be able to identify animals. Can you look carefully at the images and identify which ones are of a Wildebeest? Take a screenshot when you get to 1000 points.

Do Your Best: Why is it important to classify information about animals? Can you think of some of the different ways we can classify animals? One of the main ways of classifying animals is by identifying whether they have a backbone (vertebrates) or not (invertebrates).

Extension Task: Another way of classifying animals is by their habitats (where they live). Can you explore the habitat of the Serengeti National Park on Google Earth?

Finally Fun! If you have finished your work you can head over to Star Credits.
