Lesson 3.1: Sprites & Backgrounds
Aim:
Today you are going to learn how to block code with Scratch. You will learn how to add a background and a Sprite. You will learn how to code your Sprite to make it move.
Be Inspired!
Scratch is a great platform to get you coding. Watch the video below to help you get started:
Have a look at this project by Mrs. Klein. What instructions or algorithms were used to code the game? Click here to play FULL SCREEN.
Do Your Best:
Have a look inside Mrs. Klein's project.
1. Can you change the backdrop?
2. Can you add another Sprite?
3. Can you delete the dragon?
Extension Task:
Today's extension task is to see if you can give Mrs. Klein a moustache and a pair of glasses!
Once you have completed your work you need to make sure that you have evidence of your hard work.
1. You can take a screenshot of your coding & use Control V to paste the image into Seesaw. (NB This will only be an image of the project, not the actual project).
2. On the Scratch dashboard you can go to File & Save To Your Computer. You can then e-mail your project as an attachment to Mrs. Klein using your Office 365 account.
Finished your work? Fun time!
